security guard interview?

NYS GED

I have a security interview in NY, I’ve never had a job before but I volunteered in my high-school guidance counselor office.
Plus i’m now studying for my GED.
I recently completed and got my 8-hr and 16-hr certificates, also my NYS security license.
Are these certificates an advantage towards me in getting the job?

Yes, those will help. But a GED or college education would be better.

Good luck.

Yes it is definitely an advantage. I strongly recommend that you bring a "resume" with you to your interview, many companies will request one. Also bring with you, your social security card and your drivers license for verification purposes. I do recommend that you show willingness or go for CPR/First Aid certification, this will help make your application stronger. Be prepared for the interview, the 1st most likely question their going to ask is why do you want to be a security officer with our company?? What are your goals in life??. A lot of security companies like to hire college students, having or going for an education really does help!
