Can an 18 yr old in Ohio move out of their parents house with a GED, or do you have to graduate high school?

I’ve been so confused on this subject. It’s not for emancipation because Ohio doesn’t have that. I’m just curious because I’m hearing so many different answerers, for example i have to graduate high school so i can move out, because while still in high school parents still have a responsibilty over me.

But then i thought of a GED, so will i be able to leave with one? Or do i really have to graduate?
Another reason i’m asking if because my mom said she would do whatever to get me to stay home. She would involve the police as well. Usually she wins

if your 18, your an adult. do whatever you want.

How many questions must you answer right to pass the GED?

I read that to pass the GED you have to score a minimum of 410 on each of the five tests in order to pass. Does anyone know how many points the 410 is out of?

The 410 is out of 800 possible points. To pass the GED, you have to score an overall average of 450. In addition to that, you have to score at least 410 on each individual subject area (math, writing, reading, science, social studies). Therefore, if you have a low area like math, then you can pass with a 410 in math as long as you score quite a bit higher in the other areas so that you will average out to 450.

It varies for each subject, but generally you need to get about half of the questions right to get a 410. To get the 450, I’m not sure but you may need to get about 2/3 of the questions right. The grading scale is kind of strange, so each question isn’t necessarily worth x number of points. You will also have to score at least a 2 (on a scale of 1-4) on your essay to pass the writing section.

How do I go about getting my GED?

I left school in seventh grade and this would have been my senior year. I want to get my GED. How do I go about getting it?
I live In New Jersey!

It depends on where you are and the programs in your area. I believe there are a variety of ways to prepare for the GED test. You may find a program at your local community college, college extension program or adult school. Your local public library may have GED test preparation books.

California Dept. of Education Web page including FAQs about the GED

Example of a program at the Community Education Center (Pasadena City College)

Missouri GED Info and programs

just type in your search engine: state name GED
sometimes it helps to add to your search…

To look up books in libraries across the U.S. you can use WorldCat

Or find a library near you and look for the catalog (that’s where you look up books)

A lot of libraries now offer information assistance via some type of live chat service found on their web pages. You can ask this type of question there and receive assistance.

Best of luck.

I’m studying to get my GED and…?

I need to know if you HAVE to take a pretest before you can take the actually GED test?

I dont know if things vary by state, but where I am, I was just able to walk in on a testing day and take the actual GED test.

where is stanley hamilton’s ged certificate in akron ohio?

On the corner of E. Tallmadge Avenue and North Main Street.

GED questions? Are the questions on the GED similar to the ones in the GED study Guide?

It has been about 10 years since i took the GRE’s, but when I took them the study questions were very, very similar to the actual test questions. Make sure that you are using a high quality study system such as Kaplan, etc. and you will have a good idea of what the questions will look like.

What are my chances of getting into a good college with just a GED and SAT scores?

I dropped out of high school due to some medical problems. i’m turning 17 soon and i plan on getting my GED this fall and taking the SATs. I’ve always been a great student, but somewhere along the lines things just didn’t work out. I’ve always wanted to go to Purdue University, but now i’m afraid i won’t get accepted when i send in my application next year.

Do well on your GED exam and score very highly on the SATs. If your transcript prior to leaving high school is good and if you are active in the community…you have a chance.
